Description:
I am a former employee of both NASA and DoD contractors at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. I am proud of my twenty-five years experience working in a professional environment for our Government. I now live in Panama City, Florida and have been a caregiver for the past five years. I do not have a license or degree in the healthcare field but I do have personal experience and on-the-job training. After retiring from my previous career, I began caring for my own family members one-by-one as they each reached geriatric age and needed assistance. I know how to care for an elderly person and how to give them comfort when comfort is so hard to find. The skills of a caregiver must have a wide range evolving as the patient???????s needs change. I am skilled in the basic hygiene duties, both for mobile patients and bedridden patients. I also provide general housekeeping duties and prepare meals. I am experienced with most oxygen devices, blood pressure, and blood sugar meters. I believe there is a need for clinical support but also a need for emotional and spiritual support. I can provide comfort in other ways when there???????s nothing else that works. I have the compassion and patience to be there when your loved one just needs someone to listen when nothing they say makes sense. I have the compassion and patience to brush their hair for hours is that???????s what it takes to comfort them; to massage their shoulders or rub their feet. I can be there to play bingo, work a puzzle, watch old black and white movies, or play dominoes. Each and every patient is different. Some of the many services I provide include daily hygiene, meals, and activities such as walking, strolling, board games, reading, and writing. I also provide services such as sitting at the hospitals or nursing homes. I can be trusted to relay information to the family when you can???????t always be there. The role of a caregiver is to be able to do many things depending on each individual patient and their degree of independence. I am most skilled with patients suffering from pulmonary diseases and Alzheimer Disease. My schedule is flexible to meet the needs of your loved one. I am white, mid-fifties, strong and fit, drug-free and an active church member. I am well-spoken, energetic, confident, and personable, the type of person you can rely on. If you are interested in my services, please contact me by phone and we can schedule a meeting where we will discuss your specific situation and specific needs.
